luciana achugar
The practice of the Uruguayan born, New York–based choreographer luciana achugar (b. 1970) revolves around what it means to be in one’s body, what the body is and what are the socially acceptable (and unacceptable) norms which govern it within Western society. Taking place at a specific time and place, her contribution to Le Mouvement, which includes six professional dancers in addition to herself, remains a secret until seen. Anti-spectacular, it seeks to involve and activate the passive spectator in public space.
