Douglas Dunn
The US-born, New York-based choreographer Douglas Dunn (b. 1942) is a historic figure of post-modern American dance who is often known to work in public, urban space. For Le Mouvement, his company performs Vain Combat. Exploring and embracing what Dunn perceives to be inherently the conflictual nature of humanity, this piece draws from contact improvisation (body to body) and other post-modern dance techniques in order to orchestrate a complex encounter between his dancers in urban space.
